Escorted Holidays: Touring Made for a Slower Pace
If walking boots aren't really your thing but you still love the idea of a guided holiday, we've got some news. We've just introduced 8 new touring holidays to our collection - and this time, they're built around touring and sightseeing rather than walking.
What is an touring holiday?
An escorted touring holiday takes the best bits of a guided trip - a knowledgeable tour manager, excursions arranged for you, no logistics to worry about - and drops the daily walking mileage. Instead of trails, you're exploring a region by coach and on foot around towns and sights, with your base, transfers, flights and a full programme of excursions all organised before you leave home.
It's the same principle that's made our walking holidays popular for years: you turn up, and everything else is taken care of. The difference is pace. These holidays are perfect for anyone who wants to travel a little slower - seeing more, walking less, and having plenty of time to enjoy each place properly rather than rushing between viewpoints.
Why we've added touring holidays to the collection
Not every traveller wants - or is able to manage - a walking holiday's daily distances, and we've heard that loud and clear. Our new escorted holidays are designed for exactly that audience: people who want a fully guided, sociable trip with all the sightseeing, culture and scenery, but at an easier pace, with more time to relax, more time at each stop, and less time on your feet.
They're just as suited to first-time escorted travellers as they are to regular Involved Holidays guests looking for something a little gentler between their walking trips.
The 8 new escorted holidays
Here's a first look at what's just launched. All are 8 days, and all follow the same formula: flights, transfers, a comfortable base and a full programme of guided excursions included, and a few optional ones.
What You'll Find On An Escorted Touring Holiday
The same fully-organised, flights and transfers included approach you know from our walking holidays - built around sightseeing, at a slower pace.
🗺️
A full sightseeing itinerary
Several guided excursions to the region's towns, cities and landmarks - all arranged and included before you leave home.
☀️
Free days to relax
Time built into every itinerary to enjoy your resort - by the pool, on the beach, or exploring at your own pace.
🚌
Travel by coach between sights
No set walking distances to keep up with - you're driven between excursions, so there's no daily mileage.
🏨️
One comfortable base
Stay in a single hotel for the whole week, often with a pool or spa, rather than moving on each night.
🏛️
Wider regional sightseeing
See more of an area's cities, culture and historic landmarks in one trip than a single valley or trail allows.
Fully organised, just like our walking holidays - flights, transfers and excursions all included.
