The path reveals the unique volcanic landscapes, various craters, and the hardy, specific endemic flora of the region. Upon reaching approximately 2,100 metres, the route leads to a detour to observe the craters formed by the significant 2001 eruptions. You then continue past the Monti Calcarazzi and the entrance to the Abisso dei Monti Calcarazzi cave (which is viewed from the outside for safety considerations). After crossing the dark course of the 2001 lava flow, you undertake an ascent to the Silvestri Superior Crater.
