Explore walking in Corfu
Experience a walking holiday like no other on the stunning island of Corfu, where natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture combine to create an unforgettable escape. Your base is the elegant Four-Star Hotel Elea Beach, in the charming town of Dassia, offering the perfect balance of comfort, relaxation, and scenic splendour. The modern hotel features beautifully appointed rooms, inviting pools, and lush gardens, providing a tranquil retreat after a day of exploration.
Each morning, set out on carefully planned walking tours that showcase the very best of Corfu. Begin in the historic Corfu Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where narrow cobbled streets wind past Venetian architecture, hidden courtyards, and iconic landmarks such as the Old Fortress and St. Spyridon Church. Your guide will reveal the stories behind the city’s centuries-old buildings and bring the island’s rich past to life.
From there, visit the fascinating Mon Repos Palace, once a summer residence of the Greek Royal Family and birthplace of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Some rooms have been restored to their original Regency style, and the museum displays archaeological finds, offering a glimpse into Corfu’s royal and cultural history.
Next, explore the unspoiled beauty of the Erimitis region on the island’s northeastern coast. Rugged coastal paths lead through pristine landscapes, past secluded bays, and to panoramic viewpoints. Unlike other parts of Corfu, Erimitis has largely preserved its natural vegetation, creating a haven for rare animals and birds, including the endangered Mediterranean seal, dolphins, and otters. Wetlands such as the Antiniotis lagoon and Vouthroto wetland add to the area’s ecological significance.
Optional excursions include a trip to Paxos and Antipaxos, where white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush olive groves create scenes straight from a postcard. You’ll also visit the picturesque Paleokastritsa, with its dramatic cliffs, emerald waters, and the serene Theotokos Monastery perched above the sea. Hike through olive groves and cypress forests, taking in breathtaking vistas and finishing at one of the island’s most beautiful beaches to relax and soak up the sun.
After each day of walking and sightseeing, return to the comfort of the Elea Beach Hotel, where warm hospitality, delicious local cuisine, and peaceful surroundings ensure your evenings are as rewarding as your daytime adventures. Corfu offers the perfect combination of gentle exercise, cultural discovery, and natural splendour, making it an ideal destination for a truly memorable walking holiday.

On arrival in Corfu, you will be met and transferred to Hotel Elea Beach for 7 nights half-board accommodation.
Day Two – Walk 1 – Corfu Old Town and Mon Repos Walk
After breakfast, you will take a transfer to Corfu town. Best seen on foot, the old town is a mixture of the medieval and the modern. The Old and New Fortresses bear the insignia of the Venetian Republic. Your guide will lead you through the narrow streets and alleys of the old town, and on to the Esplanade, planted with palms and eucalyptus by the French. During the walk you will see the British cricket pitch, and the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, now a museum but once home to Corfu’s British rulers. Continuing along the sea-front promenade towards the south end of the town, you soon arrive at the gardens of Mon Repos with sweeping views of the sea which form the background to beautiful gardens filled with plants and rare trees, as well as ancient Greek temples and the remains of a Roman town. After your walk through the lush vegetation of the gardens of Mon Repos, you board the coach and take a short drive to see Pontikonisi (the famous mouse island), and then take the return transfer back to the hotel. 5 Miles, 60m Ascent/Descent.
Day Three – Free day in resort
Free day in resort.
Day Four – Walk 2 – Erimitis Walk
Today you will be heading to the north-eastern tip of Corfu island, and the region or Erimitis. This is an unspoiled area, listed in the program “Natura” as a protected forest. With your guide, you will dropped off by the coach at the beach of Avlaki and follow a path that goes partly through the forest and partly along the magnificent coastline, passing by several beautiful beaches, through Agios Stefanos, Kerasia and the small harbour of Kouloura. Your walk will finish at Kalami bay, where there will be some free time for a swim, before taking the road back to your hotel. 4 Miles, 40m Ascent/Descent.
Day Five – Free Day in resort or optional excursion to Paxos and Antipaxos
Free day in resort or why not join an optional excursion to Paxos and Antipaxos. One of the least commercial Greek Islands in the Ionian sea, Paxos (or Paxi) is truly beautiful. The island is only 7 miles by 3 and can easily be explored by foot, bike, car or boat. Unspoiled by mass tourism, you will moor into Lakka, a traditional village suitable for those who seek peace and tranquility. You can enjoy the amenities of Lakka or walk around the surrounding area to explore some of the hidden gems closeby, before sailing to Antipaxos (also known as Antipaxi) which lies a 15-minute boat ride south of Paxos (or Paxi), hence its name: Anti means opposite. This island is just 4km long and 3km wide and has around 30 full time residents, four tavernas and a handful of villas. Away from the beaches, donkey tracks wind between orchards and small vineyards that produce a popular red wine. Its Caribbean-style white sand beaches and turquoise sea make it a popular destination for day trips and yachts sailing in the Ionian. Here, you will have the opportunity to swim in the crystal waters of “Paradise beach” (Voutoumi). Our excursion returns once again to Paxos from the east side of the island and you can see the small islands of Skaltsonisi and Mongonisi, the picturesque port of Gaios village and the two small islands of Panagia and Agios Nikolaos.
Day Six – Walk 3 – Giannades to Paleokastritsa
This morning, you begin by travelling by coach to the western side of Corfu. Your coach will drop you off at the village of Giannades or the village of Kanakades. The walk will begin from here, through century old olive groves, towards the area of Liapades village. Your guide will lead you on a path to see the breathtaking views of the rocky western coast, continuing towards the beach of Iliodoros. You will have the chance to take a swim whilst waiting for the small boat that will pick you up, for a short boat ride to Paleokastritsa. There will be free time in Paleokastritsa to enjoy a lunch in one of the local taverns, or take a hike up to the monastery. Known to have some of the best beaches on the island, Paleokastritsa is a hidden gem on Corfu’s west coast. On land, expect whitewashed buildings and lush green landscapes. Later in the afternoon, your coach will pick you up to return you to your hotel. 5 Miles, 130m Ascent/290m Descent.
