Day 1
Fly from your local UK airport arriving into Malag. Here you will be met by your local Involved Holidays representative/transfer collection who will be identifiable by the Involved Holidays logo board or your surname (Depending on the number of people in your transfer). Just over an hour and a quarter, your transfer will take you along the coastal highways before climbing in the beautiful windy mountainous roads. Your destination is the sleepy spa town of Lanjaron and your hotel for the week is The Alcadima. A third generation traditional Spanish hotel that is perfect for some much needed r and r and some of the best cuisine and wine in the region.
Day 2
A lovely drive through the Alpujarras brings us to the Taha de Pitres region. This is an area characterised by small white villages, steep sided gorges and abundant flora and fauna. Most of this walk you will follow old medieval trails through the hills and villages. We start in Mecina Fondales and drop down to the enchanting village of Fondales, here we turn east and head for Ferrierola, perched high above the Trevelez gorge. Your guide will then lead you uphill to visit the very quaint, Atalbeitar before rising to reach the road that leads us to the town of Portugos. You shall take quiet back tracks to Pitres, before dropping steeply back down to the start point at Mecina. 8.5km, 424m ascent, 6.5hrs.
Day 3
Take time to explore the local town and area, experiencing the local culture first hand. As you walk through the quiet streets keep your eyes peeled for local Andalusian architecture. A highlight of the town is the Plaza de la Constitucion and the Moorish-style fountain often used as a meeting point by the locals.
Day 4
No need for transport today! The walk starts and ends from Lanjaron. Today your guide will lead you on a varied circular walk that has proved to be very popular with clients. Arab castles, rocky outcrops, hilltop “ermitas”, ancient waterways and chestnut woodlands make this circuit round Lanjarón a “must-do” during your stay here. A short climb and we reach the Ermita of the Tajos de la Crux, this is a magnificent mirador which overlooks the town. A superb section follows consisting of a series of beautiful irrigation channels and chestnut woods, before dropping back into Lanjaron

Day 5
Free day in resort. Explore a little more of the town or simply relax at the hotel. The spa facilities and beautiful terrace garden are the perfect place to rest though hard working feet.
Day 6
This route makes for a delightful, moderate mountain ascent from Durcal at the western end of the Sierra Nevada range. You will embark on a varied circular walk-through woodlands to a superb summit with great views of the western Sierra Nevada range from Veleta to Cerro de Caballo. The peak of Silleta de Padul may only have a moderate altitude of 1534m, but it allows superb views in all directionsand is well worth the effort involved in reaching its summit.

Day 7
Free day at the resort. Your last day in Lanjaron is the perfect opportunity to take in the calm tranquility before heading back to the hustle and bustle of the UK. Don’t forget to visit the town and purchase some of the local cheese and honeys, perfect as a little souvenir.
